Fourteenth Week’s Reflection for GGGE2153 Educational Technology

Assalamualaikum and hello readers!

So we have finally presented or pitched about our movie. The Edutechnovation Day is a last minute program but everyone manage to work hard on it. This is the busiest week for me. I have a lot going on but I’m very thankful that our movie has finally done and everyone seems happy with it. We didn’t win 😦 But at least we had fun presenting and having everyone watch our movie.

About Edutechnovation Day, we all have divided into committees. As for me, I’m the AJK for ‘cenderamata’. My head of committee is Joanna and the other AJK for ‘cenderamata’ are Aika, Umi and Maryam. Dr. Maslawati kindly sponsored things from Adabi. So our job was to divide the things so we can give everyone the Adabi things. Me and Maryam were in charge for that. Joanna also helped us. While Umi and Aika were in charge of preparing the certificate and print all of the certificate after the program ended. Dr. Rosseni told us that we don’t have to prepare any hampers because she will prepare them for us.

This is the photo of our rehearsal.

In the morning of the Edutechnovation Day, we had breakfast together. Of course everyone were busy preparing their storyboard, rehearsing their pitch and make sure their poster and movie were okay. Then Dr. Maslawati, the guest of honor arrived. When Dr. Maslawati and Dr.Rosseni were both there, the program started. Everything went well, Alhamdulillah.

When everyone have presented their movie, it was time to announce the winner for the best movie. Me and Maryam sat at the technical space so we can prepare the gifts for the protocol. Like what I have written, we didn’t win but at least we had fun.

Thank you Dr. Rosseni for each and every experience you gave us. Although everything needs hard work, but I have learnt that working hard leads to best product. I appreciate every journey that I’ve been through during making the movie and of course presenting the movie.

I want to take this opportunity to write my final reflection.

Edutech has taught me to be patient in dealing with technology. I once had no idea on how to use Photoshop and Sony Vegas, now do know how to edit pictures and videos using them. Although I still need a lot of practice, I’m sure one day I’ll be good with it. As a future educator to future generations and also my own children one day, I understand that I need to keep up with the technology pace. That way, I can attract my students into the learning and make the lesson be better.

Thank you. Hope to eet all of you again 🙂

Thirteenth Week’s Reflection for GGGE2153 Educational Technology

Assalamualaikum and hello again!

So this week we have no EduTech class. We proceed our movie making process by making the poster. Maryam is incharge with the poster. At first, she made the poster my using online editing website but the product has the website name on it. It is difficult to erase it because we are not good at using Adobe Photoshop. Then, I told her that I always edit my picture using Photoscape. I believe she installed the software and start editing. This is the final product:

Everyone is happy with the poster, including me. It has a girlish feel to it which suitable for or movie since our movie is about sisters’ relationship. I like the fonts that she used and also the draatic effect she put on the picture. THANK YOU MARYAM FOR THE POSTER! You have worked so hard on it.

Twelfth Week’s Reflection for GGGE2153 Educational Technology

Assalamualaikum and hello again!

So we have edited our video. All of us agreed that that is the best product. After listening to Dr. Rosseni’s comments. We tried to cut down one scene and fasten some scenes. Our video now is less than 5 minutes. I really hope our final product is the best because we have worked so hard on it. We have dealt with all problems and faced them together. It taught us to be patient and creative in problem solving.

This is the link to our video. Enjoy!

Eleventh Week’s Reflection for GGGE2153 Educational Technology

Assalamualaikum and hello people!

So this is the eleventh week’s reflection. We are still in the middle of editing our video. The scenes are all fine but the ending was not actually the best. The Asthma part seems funny to us. It was horrible and quite embarrassing. We have made our mind to not show the final part to everyone. Instead, we change the last scene to something else.

So the new final scene will be like this,

– Everyone sit on the rooftop while enjoying th relaxing evening
– Kakak break the news about her going to USA for a work
– Everyone blame her for being irresponsible
– A year later, everyone moved on with their lives
– Everything turns out to be better than expected
– Everyone starts to appreciate each others’ existence and be more matured in their lives.

The final scene was shot at Faculty of Engineering, UKM’s rooftop and Library Lingkungan II.
We have found out that in making movies, change is normal. As editing process happens, you finally realize which part is suitable, which part can change to be better. We learned about techniques in editing and explored many ideas regarding camera angles.

Tenth Week’s Reflection for GGGE2153 Educational Technology

Assalamualaikum and hello again!

So this week we have no class on EduTech. We went for shooting in Putrajaya. We have chosen Putrajaya because the place looks modern and of course, it is near to UKM 😛

First location: Taman Saujana Hijau
It was sunny and hot. We were all sweaty. We shot the last scene there. The last scene was very challenging because I have to pretend fall, suffocated (Asthma) then faint. We sat there for hours because the last scene is the longest scene. It was a success of course. But I’m not sure it is the best product.

Second location:Putrajaya Mosque
Again it was a sunny day. Luckily it was a short scene. I’m very happy that everyone gave their cooperation. Everyone seemed so comfortable around the camera. They act very well and we did not repeat many shots because it was hot and the shots taken seems okay.

Third location: In the car.
Luckily we have monopod and fish eye lens with us because it was really hard to shoot everyone in the car especially the back seaters. Again I think the scene was okay but I cannot control the sound. The back-seaters voices are slow maybe due to the length between them and the handphone.

Then after done shooting we went back to UKM. I was assigned to edit the first draft. We have posted the first draft at Facebook group in hope Dr. Rosseni can leave some comments so we can improve.

Ninth Week’s Reflection for GGGE2153 Educational Technology

Assalamualaikum and hello readers! 🙂

This week we made our story board. When I say “edit” i meant “draw”. We drew our story board. Of course our main artist is Huda. I’m the one who bold the outline and added some details to it. Maryam wrote down our scripts and Nina was.. I don’t know where she was. She was absent.

We presented at everyone. We do got some feedbacks from Dr. Rosseni. We will try to change and fasten up our shooting Dr. 🙂

That’s all for now. Bye!

Seventh Week’s Reflection for GGGE2153 Educational Technology

Assalamualaikum and hello again!

It’s the mid-sem break. Kak Ana reminded all of us in this course to make a group wordpress so we can update our progress on our short movie. Huda, one of my group member created the wordpress and me and Maryam and Nina edited it. It is a good break. We used the free time to figure out our story board, edit anywhere we can and maybe edit our story line a little bit.

Nothing much to say now, will write more on the next post! 🙂
